Nikon D3100 HD Video of Moon Using 70mm Telescope as Lens
Example of using my 70mm refractor telescope attached to my Nikon D3100 using T ring adapters. Focal length of the telescope according to specs is 900mm. Footage is untouched and transferred straight from the camera. I’ll admit my exposure is a little off as it appears to be over exposed but thought it good enough to put out there for fellow enthusiasts that can see what can be achieved with the Nikon D3100 and improved with some fine tune adjustment. Raw untouched video. Music from You tube Audio Swap page :- “Age of Gold” by Christopher Slaski. Beats the original audio of my sniffing with runny nose! :p
Nikon D3100 Moon HD Recording Using 70mm Telescope Prt 2
A lot of the shots are similar but if you’re like me and fascinated by being able to see the Moon’s features so close with a telescope and then being able to record it in HD. You may enjoy the full 10 minutes taken over 2 days. Otherwise if you’re just after a quick look the last 5 minutes where the moon was fuller has slightly sharper video than the first. Recorded Between 9th & 12th August 2011. Had a couple of clear nights once again and decided to give it another crack at recording the moon using my Telescope as a lens for my Nikon D3100 DSLR and try to get some sharper images.
