What you’re looking for is called spotting scope. There are many brands with prices ranging from 50$ to more than 1500$, but they usually have magnification around 20-60x (or more) and objective lenses of 60-80mm. Scopes with larger objective lenses tend to have brighter image and a wider field of view than the ones with smaller lenses. There are some scopes made for stargazing that can also be used to look at terrestrial things like animals.
The best way that exists to choose a scope is to test them, either in a birding shop or in the field with other people who like to watch birds or other animals with such scopes.
Anyway, if you can spend up to 2000$ I’d recommend a Swarovski STS 80 or a Leica Televid 77, they’re really good and expensive, but if you your budget is limited to something like 500$ then you could go to a gun or hunting store and there should be several decent spotting scopes there for less than 500$.
